Nature’s divine beauty has sometimes stopped me in my tracks awakening tears of gratitude.

My impulse to draw and create came at an early age.

I was driven to express and share, with oil on canvas, representations of nature’s divine beauty. That impulse started in a small hamlet in Saskatchewan, where most of the entertainment came from playing outside and using my imagination. When I went to school, grades 1 to 8 were in one building with 4 classrooms.

Even though I did well in all my subjects, my favorite class was always art, and I dreamed of becoming an artist. However, being raised in a practical family, where all my clothes are purchased a couple sizes too big (so I can grow into them) in beige (to go with everything) I was expected to take straight academics and find a 'sensible' occupation.

As a result, I went to NAIT and studied Engineering Design and Drafting, thinking this was an avenue that would offer me a creative outlet. Instead, my creativity was stifled quickly with straight lines, calculations, and in-the-box thinking.

Soon after, life became busy with house, baby and tackling the necessities of life. Art and creativity went to the back burner but was not forgotten.

My love and appreciation for the divine gift of nature’s beauty remained in my soul, and has many times stopped me in my tracks, awakening tears of gratitude.

Eventually, with the maturing of my son, I took an evening class in painting with oil, and was immediately hooked. All the creative juices came flooding back. The ability to express freely, without the constraints of codes and regulations, was so freeing. I discovered what was missing and hasn't looked back.

Since then, I’ve worked hard at my craft, putting hundreds of hours into study, and even more sitting quietly, brush in hand, allowing magic to flow through me onto the canvas. This is my passion; it's when I’m happiest.

I’ve dedicated to learning and growing as an artist, pushing to ever expanding levels of expression. I invite you to come along with me on my journey.
